Microscope low-cost motorized stage

The team's goal is to create a low cost motorized microscope stage to be used in the BME teaching lab.

Project Overview

A motorized stage is desired to automatically move the stages of an inverted fluorescent microscope, either by control of the stages themselves or translational control knobs. Currently, the microscope user functionality includes control knobs that must be manually spun to move stages, which does not allow for automated imaging or image stitching. The desired development would maintain view of the desired sample features, operate via imaging software linked to the microscope, maintain controlled movements of 1 um, and cost below $100
