Project Overview
Over 38 million people in the United States suffer from migraines. Most current solutions for migraines include over-the-counter medications and prescribed medications. These medications are often ineffective, expensive, and don’t help stop migraines in early stages. Biofeedback is one of the alternative solutions used for migraines. Biofeedback in clinical settings is time consuming, expensive, and puts people in an unnatural setting. The project aims to create a personal biofeedback device that is affordable, portable, and able to be used in a natural, at-home setting. The device will provide data during biofeedback sessions that will display body functions such as skin temperature and muscle activity, often associated with stress. The information gathered from the sessions will help the user control these body functions to prevent and lessen migraines.
