Login for More InformationThe goal is developing an app for clinical use that can detect how at risk an infant is for having craniosynostosis, using the camera to take measurements of their head.
Project Overview
Craniosynostosis is a condition where an the sutures on an infant's skull fuse together too early, not allowing the skull to grow the way it is supposed to. This gives the skull an abnormal shape, and affects brain development across the child's life. It is important to detect and treat this condition at a very young age. However, a far less severe condition called plagiocephaly can cause similar cranial deformities, but does not need to be operated on to treat. Our goal is to create an app that can aid pediatricians in diagnosing craniosynostosis.
