Bioreactor Cassette

Project Overview

Autologous induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells show great potential for use as patient-specific medical therapeutics. Currently, iPSC’s are produced by subjecting skin cells to conditions that induce pluripontency. Later, the cells can be subjected to specific signals that direct their differentiation. For this therapy to be cost-effective,however, it is necessary to have a bioreactor cassette capable of providing conditions to grow multiple iPSC samples from individual patients without exchanging media between samples. We will design a cassette and perfusion interface to address these emerging demands.
