Injuries to the lower body are very common and often require physical therapy. Physical therapy sessions are oftentimes too short and infrequent. This is an issue because periods without training potentiate muscular atrophy. Therefore, an exercise device to strengthen legs outside of the infrequent therapy sessions is needed. This device must be modeled after the leg press motion to minimize stress on the patellofemoral joint. The device must be easily moved from one wheelchair to the next, eliminating the effort and risks involved in relocating patients.
