Project Overview
Blood vessel stenosis is the narrowing of a vessel due to the accumulation of fatty deposits known as plaques on the inside of the vessel. There are currently a number of catheter-based treatment methods for stenosis, these include balloon angioplasty and the use of cardiac stents. These devices do not remove the diseased portion of the vessel, they function primarily by increasing the inner diameter of the vessel to allow fluid to pass through with less resistance.
